Tusting have been designing, crafting and manufacturing luxury leather goods in Britain since 1875. Their brand has a rich heritage both as a family company and in their hand-made, painstaking and sustainable production process.
Straight Forward Design (a brand design agency) approached us via recommendation for our first project with Tusting; they wanted us to deliver a new site and e-commerce platform.
We felt the website could tell a better story about their luxury leather goods, framing their beautiful, understated products and streamlining the purchasing process for a domestic and international market.
But first, we felt it was imperative to visit their workshop in person. In order to understand discreetly elegant products like Tustings’, you need to fully experience their production process – how the hides feel, the whirr of their stitching machines, the smell of the polish. We wanted to highlight the production process as well as the finished products’ tactile beauty in the new site.
We also streamlined the product selection process in order to aid conversion. The new site, built in WordPress with a WooCommerce platform, benefitted from seamless UX and a clean, fresh design. We also created a website specifically for the Chinese market which went live as of October 2019.
